About the Site

Welcome to i76improvements.com, the Internet’s most comprehensive source of information for travel along Interstate 76 in Southeastern PA. I-76, commonly referred to as the Schuylkill Expressway, travels 25.2 miles from King of Prussia to the Walt Whitman Bridge in Philadelphia.

The highway sees some of the heaviest traffic in the Commonwealth, with an average of 163,000 vehicles using the road daily in Philadelphia County and 109,000 average daily vehicles using the highway in Montgomery County. The Schuylkill Expressway is the main east-west corridor between Philadelphia and the region’s rapidly growing western suburbs.

In order to maintain this vital connection and account for any future increase in capacity, PennDOT routinely has a series of maintenance projects active along the expressway. This website was created to provide you with the most up-to-date information on everything from overnight maintenance to major projects along I-76.
